Citizen’s News Participation And Exploration Of The Truth In Network Public Events

Now China is in economic and social transition period,the economic landscape constantly opening up,the network technology changing constantly,as so as the social structure.In the autonomy of the network environment,the citizen has high participating enthusiasm.Especially the We-media has been developing rapidly today,citizens no longer satisfy the mass media report,they even begin to spontaneously detonate the hot spots in the form of onlookers.In silent moments of the mass media,citizens began to seek the truth and promote the development of events actively to defend our own rights and interests.This paper takes the hot event of Wei Zexi Event in 2016 as the research object,focusing on analyzing the citizen’s participation,and trying to explore the role and limitations in the inquiry of the truth of public events.The author analyzes the influence of public participation on the truth of public events in China’s current social environment by analyzing the ways and contents of the concrete participation of citizens,and explores the value of this new mode of participation from the perspective of journalism,as well as the problems.The main content of this article contains four parts.The first part reviews the study of the Wei Zexi Event.The author divides the social hot event into three stages:the origin,the climax and the end.From the perspective of how citizens participating in the development of the incident,we can clearly find the decisive role of the participation of citizens in the event process.The second part is the specific presentation and analysis of how citizens participating in the Wei Zexi Event,focusing on in the three main ways of participation,how citizens make their own news,how to invoke the news of other platforms,and how to integrate and collect the news.Through the specific text analysis,we can draw the unique role that these participation modes play on the different nodes in the event process.What citizens made becomes the traditional media coverage of news sources and hot spots,and citizens cited various types of media reports to reflect the views and tendencies of the incident.The integration of multi-source and release the original information can present the facts more objective and comprehensive.It is demonstrated that news participation has been integrated and developed with emerging media technology in the social media era.Like the butterfly effect,all of this leads the events which aroused in the Internet eventually led to a huge reality effect.The last two parts of the paper put forward the thought of analyzing the citizen’s participation in the practice,that is to discuss whether the informal news participation of the citizen promote the truth or hinder the arrival of the truth?The third part is based on the fact that the previous chapters has said,analyzing the value of citizens’ participation.First of all,this kind of news participation practice brings a wide range of sources and multiaspect perspectives to public event reports,which provide more channels for presenting the truth of the event.Second,the participation of citizens in the news makes the citizens began to dominate the public issues,to grasp the right for speaking,which also allows them to be closer to the truth of the incident.Finally,from the context of collective wisdom,the paper discusses the contribution to the research for the truth of the citizens,as "social supervisor"citizens and members in the social media era.The fourth part of the thesis focuses on the limiting factors that the citizen participates in the process of truth detection,the first is the possibility of group blindness,the citizen’s participation in practice has been seriously affected by the group.The second is the citizens in the process of participation lack rational feeling,too many irrational emotional factors affect the public’s judgment and presentation.Finally,from the perspective of journalistic professionalism,the paper talks about the relationship between the citizen’s news participation and the objectivity of the news,and how the citizen’s news should deal with the journalism professionalism in the process of discovering the truth of the incident.The paper puts forward that the practice of citizen’s news participation does not eliminate the essence of journalism,but rather reconstructs the professionalism.When the phenomenon of the presentation of the news is paused,the kernel of the citizen’s news is still the exploration of the truth.So what need to be amended is the specific operation of journalism,and the principle that the news journalism professionalism has always adhered can not be shaken.
