The phenomenon of enhanced wave has attracted the attention of many scholars since its discovery.The research on the mechanism and application potential of the wave enhancement phenomenon is of great significance in the fields of microwave new materials,microwave performance regulation and new microwave device design.In this paper,a three-layer enhancement structure of metal-dielectric-metal is designed based on the surface plasmon theory,and the wave mechanism of the structure is analyzed.The wave-increasing phenomenon is applied to the multi-frequency antenna,and a new dual-frequency high-gain antenna is designed.The main work of this paper is as follows:(1)The characteristics of the wave enhancement and the surface plasmon theory are studied.It is found that the dispersion curve of the propagating surface plasmas excited by the metal surface is close to the dispersion curve of the light in the medium at the low frequency,and the high frequency is approaching a horizontal line,which is the resonant frequency of the propagating surface plasmas;Localized surface plasmas is stimulated by micro-metal particles,while typical localized surface plasmas have both transverse and longitudinal modes.(2)In order to study the effect of surface plasmas on the transmission enhancement phenomenon,a three-layer enhancement structure of metal-dielectric-metal is designed in this paper.The metal layer is distributed with periodic sub-wavelength circular holes,and metal cylinders are added to each circular hole to excite the localized surface plasmas.The simulation results show that compared with the traditional sub-wavelength hole array structure,the second transmission peak is designed in this paper,which shows that the two kinds of surface plasmas play an important role in the transmission enhancement phenomenon.Finally,the influence of structural parameters on the transmission characteristics was studied by combining the properties of two kinds of surface plasmas.(3)The wave enhancement phenomenon is applied in the design of antenna,a new dual-band high-gain antenna is designed.Two intersecting circular holes is designed in the center of the metal plate,annular grooves are distributed around circular holes,metal cylinder is added in the center of each hole,standard rectangular waveguide feed is used.The simulation results show that the center frequency of the antenna are 11.9GHz and 16.2GHz,the gain are 11.4dB and 12.4dB respectively,and the measured test is in good agreement with the simulation result.The antenna has high guiding significance and application value in antenna design and wireless communication.
