Electric motor takes a pivotal position in industrial automation development.As the main driving force of production,various types of motor consume up about 60%electricity generated in the world.Thus,motors optimization is an important part of energy saving and consumption reduces.Permanent magnet synchronous motors(PMSM)are widely used in many fields such as transportation,spaceflight and medicine because of its high efficiency and power factor,simple structure,small volume,high energy density and good dynamic performance.However,the PMSM cost highly,with risk of demagnetization and other issues,which need to be compensated by optimization.In this paper,through the basic principles of PMSM,start with the electromagnetic design of PMSM,the optimization design of PMSM is studied.The main work of this paper is as follows:1.Firstly,the development status and research trend of motor optimizations are introduced.Then introduced the basic principle and improved method of genetic algorithm(GA)and particle swarm optimization(PSO).By analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of both algorithms,proposed a complementary genetic particle swarm optimization algorithm(GAPSO),and corresponding principles and implementation process are discussed.2.Then begin with the basic principle and structure of line-start PMSMs,analyze the characteristics of its electromagnetic calculation process as preparation for motor optimization.An electromagnetic calculation model of line-start PMSMs based on C++ is established.Taken a typical model of line-start PMSM as electromagnetic calculation example and the accuracy of the program is verified by Ansoft software.3.Based on of the work above,taking efficiency,power factor and several other objectives as the optimization targets,selecting the reasonable optimization variables and setting the corresponding constraint conditions,establish a mathematical model for the optimization of line-start PMSM.Combine with electromagnetic motor model,form an optimized design procedure of PMSM.A concise user interface is established,with electromagnetic calculation and optimization program to form an optimal design system of PMSM.Optimal designs of three PMSMs with different specifications are carried out and analyzed.The promotion by optimization illustrates the validity and practicability of the algorithm.Finally,static and transient simulation of 2D electromagnetic field before and after optimization is carried out by Ansoft.The simulation results show that the optimization improve the starting performance and operating characteristics of PMSM.
