Optical temporal integrator is important basic optical computing device for optical information processing and it can achieve the function of integral operation.Optical temporal integrator based on coupled mode theory of twin-core fiber is a new direction for the study of optical temporal integrator.In this paper,we get the inspiration from the research method of twin-core optical fiber optical differentiator,study many schemes of optical temporal integrator,explore and obtain the theoretical model of twin core optical temporal integrator based on coupled mode theory.And we design new structure of twin-core fiber so as to obtain the twin-core optical fiber temporal integrator prototype,then we conduct the detailed integral characteristics analysis and numerical simulation.The main work is as follows:(1)We compared the different methods of optical temporal integrator,and the main idea of optical time domain integrator is derived,which analyzing the device's integral characteristics from transfer function.(2)We have designed a new concept structure of twin-core fiber.A micro ring is formed between two fiber cores.The optical signal is input from one core,and the output of the optical signal from the integral process is output from the other core.According to the coupled mode theory,we can deduce the twin core fiber transmission matrix,transfer function can be obtained by the transfer matrix,so that it shows that the design of the twin core fiber to achieve the twin core optical temporal integrator.(3)We performed theoretical simulation of twin-core optical temporal integrator.We study the characteristics of the twin-core fiber optical temporal integrator,and analyzes the influence of various parameters.Ideally,the twin core fiber temporal integrator without loss is input by Gauss optical pulse and super Gauss optical pulse to verify integral performance of the integrator,finally feasibility and accuracy of the twin core fiber optical temporal integrator has been proved theoretically.
