Both “X be not Z than Y” and “X be not so Z as Y” are negative comparison constructions,but we found that there are problems when foreign students use this two negative comparative sentences.Firstly,the paper explicit contact and difference between them,which lays theory basics for teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Secondly,we want to know the physical truth about learning the two sentences by doing questionnaire,and use theory to analyze the causes about errors.Finally,we will give some advices according to the causes of problems,especially we suggest using the Situational Teaching Method,we contain education in amusement,in order to build capability of using “X be not Z than Y” and “X be not so Z as Y” correctly and appropriately in the process of communication.
