“Book of Songs” is China’s earliest collection of poetry,many researchers studied on it since the Han Dynasty and regarded it as a classic by Confucian.The “Shi Gu Wei” written by Wei Yuan aim to interpret and exert the sublime words with deep meaning of the "Book of Songs" by study the Han Dynasty researchers of Confucian Classics and the collection of Qi,Han,Lu’s left writing.The most important content of Wei Yuan’s elucidation about the sublime words with deep meaning of the three cliques’ songs is the understanding of “Si Shi”,therefore this paper selects “Si Shi” theory as the research content,trying to promote the research of “Shi Gu Wei”.This paper is divided into four chapters.In chapter one,we studied Wei Yuan’s life story and sorted out whole academic story of “Si Shi” based on the analysis of development vein of “Book of Songs”.The second chapter analyzed the popularity of the versions of “Shi Gu Wei” and summarizes the main contents of it.The third chapter focuses on the understanding of academic experience of “Si Shi”,combing the basic concepts related to it,investigated the similarities and differences between the Qi,Lu,Han,Mao’s poems on “Si Shi”.The last chapter summarizes Wei Yuan’s views on “Si Shi”,further explained the connotation of “Si Shi”,then discussed in detail of the core argument-“Si Shi” was created by Zhou Gong.
