Kendall’s book -- Dying to Live How Our Bodies Fight Disease. This book aims to enable people who do not have a biological basis to understand the profound knowledge of disease. This translation project will reveal the mysteries of the war between human body and disease.The theoretical basis of this translation report is Katharina Rice’s text typology.Under the guidance of the theory, the author analyzes the characteristics and translation strategies of popular science texts; discusses the translation methods of technical terms,semi-technical words and complicated sentences, as well as the methods of discourse cohesion in popular science texts; analyzes the methods of using parallel text to strengthen understanding and proofreading of the translation, fully explores the translation strategies of popular science texts. This translation report is composed of four chapters: chapter one is a brief introduction of the report, including the source of the translation project, its general content, the significance of the study and the structure of the report; chapter two introduces text typology and analyzes the translation project based on the theory; chapter three is an analysis of the difficulties and ways of dealing with the difficulties in the translation process; chapter four is a summary of some experience and suggestions for scientific text translation based on this translation practice.
