Nowadays we pay more attention to the improvement of students’ comprehensive quality and personalized development along with the development of modern education. Flipped Classroom Model conforms to the trends in modern teaching and it has brought new ideas in educational arrangement. It changed the teaching process,compressed the time of lecturing in the class without affecting the teaching effect.Tourism Chinese has become an important part of teaching Chinese as a second language. However, according to the current status of Tourism Chinese teaching, it has the problem of obsolete teaching model and learn to use out of sync, so that learner’s learning efficiency is poor and teaching effect is not obvious.At present in mainland China, the study of flipped classroom applied to Tourism Chinese is still blank. Therefore, this paper attempts to use flipped classroom model in Tourism Chinese teaching, to explore the feasibility of this model applied to Tourism Chinese and the effective method of improve learner’s initiative, the ability of students’ self-regulated learning and the quality of Tourism Chinese teaching, to develop the theory of teaching Chinese as a second language. Firstly, this article analyzed the features of flipped classroom and Tourism Chinese by literature research,combined with the basic situation of curriculum and teaching object, conducted an instructional design to teaching objectives, contents and methods, and established the teaching model. Then it carried on an empirical research in the class, and studied the results of questionnaire survey and interview at the end. The research results show that flipped classroom is well adapted to the needs of Tourism Chinese teaching and can meet the needs of students’ personality learning. It has the promoting function to the improvement of learning efficiency and cultivate self-regulated learning. Students are very fond of this new teaching model- flipped classroom, and this research reached the assigned tasks and expected goals. But we also noticed unsatisfactory issues in the process, and they provide us a reference for further improvement.
