In the history, "three-less" nationalities were the minorities hunting in the forest region in north of our country, and it was a culture phenomenon in the history development process of three-less nationalities that using birch-bark to manufacturing various implements and the folk culture background thereof. They depended on the great nature, and for the purpose of adopt the natural climatic condition and unique regional environment of north, they manufactured lots of birch-bark implements necessary for their life by the local material. Therefore, the birch-bark handiwork that applicable to the hunting life almost covers the entire hunting people’s life. For the "three-less nationalities" with only language and without characters thereof, the birch-bark culture undertakes more important culture information. By the interpreting for the culture information on birch-bark culture and handiwork thereof, we could deeply understand the life style, folk culture, religious activities, aesthetic consciousness, etc of "three-less nationalities".This paper consists of six parts, mainly based on three points. First of all, it focuses on the development line and the formation of aesthetic feature of the traditional birch-bark handiwork. The birch-bark culture and handiwork are the unique culture art formed in the unenlightened primitive period. Within this paper, the research for the formation, development and evolution of the birch-bark culture and art of "three-less" nationalities would be deeply discussed with the "region culture" and view angle, together with the characters of society, history, culture, etc of "three-less nationalities" region. Secondly, the related problem of "redesign of traditional birch-bark art of three-less nationalities" would be mainly researched. With the redesign theory as the theory basis, it is proposed that on the basis of the protection for birch resource, as per the character of birch-bark itself combining it with multiple materials, to combine the traditional birch-bark art with the modern art appreciation. The ancient ethnic art is renovated and adopted into the culture industry by using the modern and present design idea and principle. Thirdly, the individual case is interpreted by reference of the domestic and international related birch-bark art work result, to provide theory and practice support for the inheritance and innovation of birch-bark art of "three-less nationalities".In the recent years, the birch-bark art and manufacturing method thereof are gradually valued, however, it is always ignored that the usage thereof and the design of outlook. The local and government always pay attention on the problem of protection and inheritance of the birch-bark culture and handiwork from the angle of intangible culture heritage protection, which does not substantially improve the problem of the development of birch-bark handiwork. This paper would try to actively propose the green birch-bark handiwork design from the angle of art design and R&D with the precondition of protection and utilization of birch-bark resource, to cause the birch-bark culture and handiwork thereof on the way of industrialized production that in continuous development way.
