A Research On Ancient Roman Triumph

Triumph is an important cultural event in Roman history.From Romulus to Augustus,the triumphs that held in Rome dizzied numbers of Roman people.Triumph had a great significance on both triumphator and his family,even all Romans.This article mainly makes a preliminary study on the triumph of the roman Republic in three aspects.The first part introduces the basic information of triumph,the condition on its early stage,the classifications,and its rules.The second part describes the relationship between Roman Republic politic and triumph.It revealed the political functions of triumph and the hunt for triumph.All these reflected the wind vane of Roman Republic politic.The third part introduces the relationship between the triumph and the identity of Roman people.Triumph reflects the victory of the Roman people,which can strengthen their collective identity.In the process of implementation,in order to achieve their goals the Romans mainly adopted the following strategies: specific occasions,careful layout and show off their achievements.Finally,the paper makes a conclusion according to the study.As a glory of the individual and all Romans,on the one hand,triumph closely linked with the politics of Roman.On the other hand,it strengthens the collective identity of the Romans.
