The increasing flight demand brings great traffic pressure to limited airspace.Problems such as delays,waste of resources,and safety caused by aviation congestion have greatly reduced flight efficiency.Terminal is the starting point of air traffic and it is also a frequent area of congestion and delay.It is crucial to the flight efficiency of the flight.The precondition of using advanced ATC technology to improve flight efficiency is to make accurate assessments of efficiency.In addition,scientifically defining efficiency indicators and comprehensively analyzing the factors affecting flight are critical to accurately assessing efficiency and finding ways to improve flight efficiency.Taking the Capital Airport as the object,the arrival efficiency was studied.Firstly,extract the time and location information for the entry point and landing point from the arrival ADS-B data.Calculate the actual arrival time and horizontal flight distance as the preliminary analysis data.Then use the K-Means clustering algorithm to classify flights into 6 categories.Analyze the effects of factors such as weather,aircraft type,direction,runway and congestion in the terminal area on arrival.Design indicators of arrival flights combining with the research results of flight efficiency in Europe and the United States.Use regression analysis to find the most relevant explanatory variables for congestion in terminal.Propose a method for calculating the efficiency benchmark for unimpeded flight congestion thresholds,and assess the efficiency of the arrivals.Comparing the additional arrival time with major airports in Europe and the United States,the results show that Beijing Capital Airport’s arrival efficiency is at a low level.During the research,it was found that there was a certain correlation between the arrival time and the horizontal flight distance,and the results of evaluating the arrival efficiency of the two indicators were basically the same.Then,make a qualitative assessment of the arrival efficiency of Capital Airport in different arrival directions using the cloud model.Finally,propose an arrival time prediction model based on M/G/1 queuing theory.The experimental results can better reflect the actual operation situation,and the prediction error of the arrival time per 15 minutes does not exceed 1.5 minutes.
