As more and more theories and practice works on urban developing problems, the promotion of pedestrian walking is a key to ease the urban problem happed in the urbanization process.More walkable city area could not only reduce traffic jam and air pollution, but also has positive influence on social communication and city vitality. This study takes typical stations in Hong Kong and Tianjin as examples,to research on the relation between built environment and pedestrian behavior. The series of relations can help to get the relation mechanism between pedestrian distribution and urban form and commercial types. The mechanism is applicable to the urban planning and design practice. It helps to get the reasonable layout of this area which can promote the pedestrian flows on streets and the accessibility of metro station further. The methodology mainly takes quantitative methods for the whole research.Factor analysis approach is used to get the series of factors of built environment.Unary linear and multi factor line regression analyses are the methods for relation analysis between built environment factors.Qualitative analysis is also reflected in the conclusion summary in analysis process of each factor. The research shows the followings:(1)Commercial layout, road network structure, actual walking distance and underground spaces have an apparent influence on pedestrian flow.(2)Shopping malls and retails have great attraction on pedestrian flow, and can be located in any street in the accessibility area around metro stations which commonly have positive influence on pedestrian flow.(3)Commercial types of service, hotels and business office can be located together with a high percentage in one street, which can make a negative impact influence on pedestrian flow.(4)Underground spaces usually have a negative influence on the vertical streets on the ground, but have a positive influence on the streets of its endpoint of the long subway.
