The asymmetric node mentioned in this paper is a new reinforced node which is developed based on the symmetry reinforcement node for handling the drawbacks occurred in the current construction process(for instance: building clearance reduction,welding difficulty and high cost).In this paper,a series of finite element mode simulations were carried out for analyzing the anti-seismic ability of the asymmetric rib stiffening node,asymmetric axillary plate reinforced node,and the ordinary bolt welding node.The main contents include the following items:1.Summarize the experimental study of asymmetric reinforcement node.The finite element analysis software ANSYS was used to build the model of the symmetric rib stiffening node and the asymmetric axillary plate reinforced node.The conclusions obtained by the finite element analysis were compared with the previous studies.This research revealed that the asymmetric reinforcement nodes presents a better seismic performance.The plastic hinge can be moved outside the node area for protecting the nodes effectively.In addition,it proves the rationality and accuracy of finite element analysis.2.Eight asymmetric reinforced node models were established by finite element analysis software ANSYS.The influence of the stiffened plate thickness on the performance of the notes was discussed individually.Based on the research,it can be concluded that the thickness of the stiffened plate is increased,and the initial stiffness of the two kinds of asymmetric reinforced nodes is improved.The hysteresis curve and the skeleton curve of the non-reference ribs strengthen the node are not changed significantly;Other properties of the node,such as: ductility,energy consumption are changed with changing of the thickness.With the increase of the thickness,the hysteresis curve and the skeleton curve of the stiffened joints stay constant.The ductility coefficient and the equivalent viscosity coefficient of the asymmetric axillary plate reinforced node show a decrease tendency.3.Eight asymmetric reinforced node models were established by finite element analysis software ANSYS.The influence of the stiffener length on the performance of the notes was discussed individually.It was found that increasing the stiffened plate length may slightly improve the initial stiffness of the two kinds of asymmetric reinforcement nodes.However,it was noticed that while the non-symmetrical rib stiffener notes hysteresis loop area are increased,the ductility and energy dissipation performance of the nodes are gradually reduced with the increasing of the length.Besides that,almost all the properties of the armchair reinforcement nodes are increased with the increasing of the length.4.The finite element analysis results of the asymmetric rib stiffening node and asymmetric axillary plate reinforced node in the previous chapter were compared with those of the ordinary brazing note.It presented that non-symmetrical strengthening nodes can perform better properties(including: bearing capacity,ductility,and energy dissipation capacity)and provide higher initial stiffness than the ordinary nodes hysteretic..
