| With the engine unit design concept be proposed and implemented in the field of civil aviation, defect of the performance evaluation system, which focus on evaluating and listing the performance of the whole engine or assessing the engine by EGT, was increasingly prominent. While the engine designed in unit’s structure need to be evaluated in units, by which the economy of the engine can be enhanced. So building an evaluation system focus on the units is urgent. A reasonable choice of parameters characterizing the performance of the unit body is the most important. However, parameters of the system focus on the unit are based on the performance of the whole engine in the domestic. So research of the parameters in the engine units makes it possible that transform the performance evaluation assessed by whole body into the units.The main researches of this paper are:(1) Parameters selection of the units: Propose the modern evaluation system which based on the works of the engines and analysis of the performance parameters and the measurable parameters. It differs from the traditional system which evaluating the performance of the whole engine by the measurable parameters and depended on the special algorithm.(2) The effectiveness of the choice of performance parameters was verified: the correlation between the parameters of the whole engine and the units was studied and the effectiveness of the parameters was verified which are chosen to characterize the performance of units by the Neural Network algorithm. Analysis the changes of the parameters caused by performance degradation, combined with the common failure mechanism of the units by which to verify the reasonable of the parameters.(3) Performance evaluation for the units: Taking the low-pressure compressor(LPC) of PW4077 D for example. The research provide the calculation formula of the PW4077 D LPC performance health index by Principal Components Analysis algorithm which are calculated in software SPSS. Finally, evaluate the performance of the LPC in five engines. Results of the research can promote the study of the performance evaluation for units. On the one hand, study the parameters that affect performance, starting from the works of the engine units, on the other hand, in order to consistent with the design principles of units, transform the study of the evaluation methods for whole engine into units. |
