Nature has long considered as a source of inspiration for researchers and investigators.Inspired form plants and animals with special wettable surface,a variety of preparation methods of the special wettable surface have been explored,and a series of surface with special wettable have been fabricated in recent years,on the basis of the surface chemical compositions and surface micro-structure combined influence of external environment adequate consideration.Accompanied scientists and engineers more deeply research on the special wettable surface,emerging numerous preparation methods of special wettable surface,including plasma method,etching,sol-gel,deposition,template method and layer-by-layer method,etc.The applied effect of special wettable surfaces in various fields,including drag reduction,anti-icing and anti-snowing,corrosion resistance and oil-water separation,etc.Massive emissions of sewage and industrial waste water,the occurrence of oil spills frequently,which presented a huge challenge for our sewage treatment capacity and ecological balance.Oil/water separation is an important field,not only for scientific research but also for practical applications aiming to resolve industrial oily waste water and oil-spill pollution,as well as environmental protection.In this paper in this condition,were committed to research and development of superoleophilic and superhydrophobic maters for oil/water separation,the focus around the surface wettability theory and application of stability and separation efficiency of the materials unfolds,concrete as follows:1.The application of super-oleophilic and super-hydrophobic coated stainless steel mesh for oil-water separation.304 stainless steel wire mesh with excellent flexibility,excellent pressure resistance,the surface of easy handling,low price,good mechanical properties was used as a substrate,Low Density Polyethylene with low surface energy was used as coated film material on 304 stainless steel wire mesh,the micro-nano rough structure surfaces was constructed,with a method of applying a solvent to a non-dissolving solution,the surface roughness of the coated film was improved,so that the surface of the coated film in the natural environment has a stable super-olephilic and super-hydrophobic properties under the natural environment.The coated mesh can effectively separate a variety of oil-water mixture,separation efficiency of its up to 95%,such as kerosene,0 # diesel oil,soybean oil,organic solvents,etc.oil-water mixture.2.Application of super-oleophilic and super-hydrophobic sponge in oil-water separation.The low-cost,easy to compress and flexible three-dimensional porous sponge was used as a substrate,low density polyethylene with low surface energy in the sponge surface and sponge skeleton surface was used as film material,the sponge with super-oleophilic and super-hydrophobic special wettability was constructed,a method of applying a solvent to a non-dissolving solution was applied,the porous structure of the sponge can capture a lot of air,an air-bag is formed on the surface of the sponge,with synergistic effect air-bag and lows urface energy substance Low Density Polyethylene,so that the surface of the coated film in the natural environment has a stable super-olephilic and super-hydrophobic properties under the natural environment.The sponge film can effectively separate a variety of oil-water mixture,separation efficiency of its up to 95%,such as kerosene,0 # diesel oil,soybean oil,acetone,n-heptane and other organic matter of oil and water mixture.In the separation process,sponge was used repeatedly,the capacity of sponge film for oil and water separation and surface hydrophobicity did not change significantly.3.Application of basic theory of wetting and capillary force in oil-water separation.Rough super-oleophilic and super-hydrophobic stainless steel mesh surface wetting believed as composite wetting,the wetting model is simplified as a Cassie-Baxter model,and calculate it.In the process of oil-water separation of super-oleophilic and super-hydrophobic sponge,oil and sponge were analyzed of force.
