| For developing countries, inward foreign direct investment(IFDI)plays an important role in economic development. However,as the foreign direct investment promotes rapid economic development, environmental pollution becomes increasingly serious.Yangtze Delta absorbs the most IFDI in China, more than half the IFDI gathered in here.Along with promoting region economic development, environmental problems it caused are becoming more and more attention by people.Based on this phenomenon,we try to explore the relationship between IFID agglomeration and the environment in Yangtze Delta, study the environmental effects caused by IFDI agglomeration in depth.Using the datas from 2003 to 2014,we take the two provinces and one city in Yangtze Delta as research object.Based on the description of current status of IFDI agglomeration and environmental pollution in Yangtze Delta,we analyze the mechanism of IFDI agglomeration effect on environmental pollution theoretically. We select industrial wastewater emissions, industrial so2 emissions and industrial smoke dust emissions as pollutants indicators. Then we use entropy method to calculate the environmental pollution index.By using spatial statistical analysis methods such as global and local Moran index and Moran scatter plot,we focus the research of spatial correlation between IFDI agglomeration and environmental pollution, and their distribution pattern and space dynamic transition, try to demonstrate the spatial agglomeration features of IFDI and environmental pollution. Finally,By introducing the spatial effect into the traditional panel model analysis,we use spatial lag model and spatial error model to empirically study IFDI agglomeration effect on the Yangtze Delta environment.Spatial statistical analysis results show that IFDI and environmental pollution in Yangtze Delta exists an obvious spatial autocorrelation. The IFDI agglomeration level and environmental pollution of a city is closely related with its position, both of them have an obvious "path dependence" characteristics in the geographical distribution, and form the high value of agglomeration areas with Shanghai,Wuxi and Suzhou as the center.IFDI high value agglomeration area is generally high value agglomeration area of the environmental pollution and vice versa.Spatial panel model regression results again verify the spatial dependence of the environmental pollution in Yangtze Delta, and cross effect of environmental pollution exists between neighboring cities. As one of the important factors that affect environmental quality, the agglomeration of IFDI aggravates the deterioration of environmental quality.According to the conclusion,we put forward some targeted policy recommendations. |
