Analysis And Evaluation Of Coastal Cities Marine Characteristics From The Perspective Of Regional Identity

China has a long coastline and coastal cities have a significant position in China’s cities.coastal cities are the most dynamic region of the chinese economy where population gathering gradually.The ocean is an important factor affecting the development mode and the city spirit of the coastal cities and The study of the relationship between the ocean and the city has positive practical significance.Based on explaining the definition of the coastal cities Maritime Characteristics,this paper has summed up 13 influencing factors of coastal cities Maritime Characteristics.Furthermore,this paper has analyzed qualitatively the progressive relationship between these factors using Interpretative Structural Modeling(ISM)on the basis of the degree of how directly these factors influence on regional identity.The results show that the ocean landscape,ocean-related employment,marine employment and marine products and services consumption have the most direct inflence on coastal cities regional identity.Marine culture and marine industry production serves as a connecting link between the preceding and the following.Other factors are the basic elements of the system.To evaluate the marine Characteristics of coastal cites scientifically,this paper lists the basic content of the ideal rating system should be included,and construct the index system contained multi dimension selection indexes based on existing data.According to the results of ISM,this paper has constructed an evaluation system of coastal cities Maritime Characteristics.Evaluate and sort the seven typical coastal cities in China useing fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method.The results showed that Dalian > Ningbo > Shanghai > Xiamen > Tianjin > Shenzhen.The second level evaluation indexs can show the superiority in Marine natural geographical conditions,Marine economy,Marine culture,Marine science and technology,Marine education,marine resources and environmental protection between different coastal cites.This paper also puts forward the idea of constructing "marine city",establishing the harmonious development concept of ocean and coastal cites.
