| In the current quality inspection rules and regulations for publication, evaluation system becomes more complete in the aspects of redaction, design and printing. But the quality assessment about the content focuses more on political and moral level, leading to the lack of the review and evaluation mechanism for books’ basic functions. This paper relys on the subject research of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Ridio, Film and Television of The People’s Republic of China—long-term mechanism research for improving quality of publication. Firstly, I sort out and compare the existing evaluation indicators for publication’s content quality based on the analysis of related literature and the discussion meeting participated by publishing industry professionals, quality management experts, research group members. Associate with the commonalities of publication and the specificities of books, I build the framework of the evaluation system for books content quality, which including 5 primary items, named as entertainment, information, education, academic and practicability, and 31 secondary indicators. Secondly, through the questionnaire survey and data analysis, I modify the framework by principal component analysis(PCA) and factor analysis. Combined with the software SPSS, I calculate the weight of each indicators at various levels, and form the evaluation system. The final the evaluation system for books content quality includes 9 primary items and 31 secondary indicators. The primary items are carrier value, entertainment, academic, influence, information, practicability, education, political culture and specialization. Given that the constant weights can only reflect the importance of basic index factors, however variable weights can restrict and balance the overall target, I introduce the fuction of variable weights in the process of evaluation. Finally, the paper conducts the analysis of application of this evaluation system by using random simulation. By comparing the evaluation results of the two evaluation methods, we explore the applicability, rationality and scientificity of the evaluation system for books content quality and evaluation methods, and put forward reasonable suggestions to book publishing industry to improve the content quality. |
