Research On Digital Resources Aggregation In Academic Journals Oriented To Semantic Publishing

With the coming of information age, all kinds of digital information are becoming increasingly rich. The development and popularization of information technology have led to the explosive growth of data, but also pose a challenge to the digital publication of academic journals. The digital resources of academic journals have met the users’ information need, but also brought the huge pressure of information overload to the users on the other hand. So scientific research users have to spend more time on literature resources lookup. In addition, the PDF format of the document have also been unable to adapt to the users’ deep reading habits. Since Shotton David proposed semantic publishing concept, semantic publishing has received extensive attention of the publishing industry and academic community. As the senior form of digital publishing, semantic publishing not only improves the scientific research users’ reading and usage experience, but also improves the efficiency of peer communication in scientific circles. It also greatly promotes the information content structuring, scientific data integration, information visualization, the association between digital objects and users’ reading individuality.In view of the current scientific research users’ reading demand for the knowledge discovery and digital resources deep reveal, the resource aggregation method represented by semantic web technology, for example, ontology and linked data, can effectively solve the resources aggregation problem in the digital publishing development of academic journals, and promote the knowledge discovery. Digital resource aggregation method based on XML, metadata, ontology and linked data is the important means to achieve content structuring and resource integration in the semantic publication of academic journals. The core of digital resource aggregation method based on semantics is building the metadata ontology, realizing the semantic correlation between ontology, establishing semantic relationship between relevant ontology and other digital resources, and releasing related digital resources and knowledge unit data in the form of linked data, so as to realize the aggregation of digital resources of academic journals, and build up an organic knowledge unit system.First of all, this article discusses the concept characteristics, expression form, implementation technology and the current practice of semantic publishing, and summarizes four digital resource aggregation methods based on semantics. Then the paper analyzes the current situation of digital resource aggregation of academic journals and it’s meaning, and then elaborates the effect of digital resource aggregation on semantic publishing of academic journals. This paper mainly shows the situation of resources query and utilization under the semantic publishing, taking the Elsevier for example, and then puts forward the model of digital resource aggregation of academic journals based on semantic publishing. Then, the article constructs the medicine "CHD" instance, and demonstrate it by designing several experiments. Finally, compared with CNKI database, this article analyzes and evaluates the result of the resource aggregation, and verifies the feasibility of the digital resource aggregation method based on semantics proposed in this paper in the digital publishing of academic journals.
