The science popularization of China(PR) has developed into new age since the founding of modern China in 1949. The previous top-down model has been changed to the new one: double channel of communication and the share of science information including science knowledge, methods, thoughts and culture.Our quality of daily life is influenced by the level of science literacy, and so also the public values and attitudes towards science and related issues. Today the science literacy of Chinese adults is still inadequate as the 8th national survey of public understanding of science and technology by CAST(China Association for Science and Technology) revealed. The survey report displays that97% of Chinese citizens are scientific illiterate. It is urgent and hard job to develop not only science literacy but also the awareness and culture of science. In the digital age, some of NGO have been created for science communication such as "Guokr"(Nuts Shell). This thesis is the results of my personal research by qualitative study and Field work, trying to discover how the organization works and how it change the model of science communication from that of centralized plan to much free mechanics in communicating science to the public and concludes the characters of new model. This paper also at the end recalls the problems remained and suggestions for its development and gives insight into the development of science communication by NGO in China.
