Catadioptric camera is an imaging system consisting of refracting lenses and reflecting mirrors, planar catadioptric camera is composed of two planar mirrors and a pinhole camera. In this thesis, two planar mirrors are used to capture four virtual reflection images of space object. By analyzing the symmetry of reflection point group about planar mirrors, the properties of curves’ tangent lines at feature points and the colinearity of circular points and infinite points, this thesis puts forward three methods to calibrate planar catadioptric camera and performs simulation experiment and real experiment to verify algorithms’feasibility and effectiveness. Finally, the3D shape of the object can be reconstructed based on the five extracted silhouettes.The main contents of this thesis are as follows:(1) Analysis the symmetry of reflection point group about planar mirrors and the properties of curves’ tangent lines at feature points to calculate the circular point image and then recover the camera intrinsic parameters.(2) Analysis the symmetry of reflection point group and the colinearity of circular points and infinite points to calculate the circular point image, and then solve out the camera intrinsic parameters.(3) Analysis the symmetry of reflection point group about planar mirrors and the properties of harmonic conjugate to calculate the orthogonal vanishing points and then recover the camera intrinsic parameters.(4) Perform simulation experiment and real experiment to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the three methods.(5) Using the extracted five silhouette contour of the object to reconstruct its three-dimensional shape.
