With the research and development of artificial intelligence, computer technology and digital processing chips, the robot technology has also been promoted considerably, which will also play a more and more important role in the Internet of Things. However, talented people in the area of robots recently cannot meet the market demand, so the university should strengthen the education of robotics. In the modern education of robotics, lab education is necessary for the students who major this course. In the moment experimental teaching methods are mainly focusing on laboratory education or remote control which needs the support of robot hardware. But we all know cost of robot hardware is very high which adds the pressure of the universities’ cost. Therefore if the universities apply the virtual reality technology to the robotics experimental teaching, not only the experiment demand will be achieved, schools’ financial pressure also will be reduced. Based on the research and conclusion of robotics virtual experiments at home and abroad, this paper designs and implement a web-based robotics virtual experiment system, and discusses the design idea of the system in detail.Robotics virtual experiment system developed by this issue is completed by Solidworks which is in charge of the modulation of robots and X3DOM engine which is the core of this system. In these modules, robot motion-control module is developed by X3DOM engine which has rich classes and libraries about matrix operations, translation and rotation.3D models are displayed by X3DOM which can be parsed by browsers directly.Finally, taking PUMA560as an example, and in accordance with the robotics experiment requirement, some related experiments about robot kinematics and robot language are made, and then the results are compared with the theoretical data, which verify the system’s availability and accuracy of the experiments. Based on the conclusion of the experiments, this paper elaborates the improvement program of the system.
