Teaching how to write a composition is a crucial content in Chinese teaching of middle school. Nowadays, impacted by utilitarianism and exam-oriented education, teaching of middle school’s composition has faced many defects, which has produced a hotbed for ‘dishonesty’ phenomenon in students’ composition. The dishonesty could impede students’ expression of language and emotion, and even the cultivation of personality. There are four aspects: teachers, students, society and family. Looking from the teacher’s aspect, the reasons mainly include valuing teaching skills but ignoring contents; utilitarianization in teaching mode; an over- lofty emotion expressiveness guidance; the irrational evaluation; and lack of the cultivation in academic norms, etc. From the student’s aspect, the reasons involve the lack of experiences of real subject and the knowledge of writing methods; the misleading of model compositions and the lack of media literacy, etc. From the social system, it is mainly because the moralization in proposition of N ECC composition and the emptiness of composition criteria. And at last, from the family side, it is mainly affected by the family atmosphere as well as the attitude and value of parents. Therefore, teachers should change this situation and back to the writing teaching to enrich the contents of both curricular and extra-curricular,to improve teaching and evaluation methods, to develop students’ consciousness of academic norms. As for students, they should stick to individualized writing and the expressiveness of their real ideas and develop ideal and cultural accumulation. And for parents, they should cooperate with the education subject to change their situation step-wisely. In addition, in the exam-oriented atmosphere, teachers and paper makers should make our paper life-oriented,refine the evaluation and make it clear that real feelings should appear throughout. Through the methods mentioned above, there could be an effective education forces to change the dishonesty situation in students’ compositions and make our them express their true feelings.
