Teaching reform is the soul of development in vocational education. Since twenty-first Century, high skill talents have been paid more and more attention by national and Vocational Colleges, duing to the adjustment of industrial structure and talent demand in the society. The changes of goal of talent training depend on innovation of the mode of teaching. Project teaching oriented of work process enters higher vocational colleges.Since 2007, a wave of reform on project-based teaching has been set off in occupation education field in China. Many teachers have made a bold attempt and exploration with their teaching curriculum and achieved the effect evaluation about implementation of project teaching.In this paper, the concept of project teaching in Higher Vocational education is clarified from connotation, the basic process and the basic characteristics. The content and the rationality of the expected target are analyzed from the theory and the practice, which is for the science of the project teaching in higher vocational education.In order to discuss reasonably the effectiveness of project teaching in higher vocational education, this paper takes a Vocational College as an example in Jiangsu. The effectiveness is empirically analyzed by case study and interview survey method.Empirical results of project teaching are attributed, and the implementation difficulties are explored. More, the reasons are analyzed by the plight of the deductive method. Based on the above analysis, the author tries to present some strategies on enhancing the effectiveness of project teaching in higher vocational colleges, from the project design and presentation, organization and implementation of project teaching, teachers’ comprehensive quality and evaluation of project teaching.
