Research On The Yi Nationality’s Lineage Association Of Liangshan In The Process Of Urbanization

Recently, Yi society of Liangshan is experiencing sharp and profound social and cu ltural changes, it can be described as a critical period from traditional society to modern one. With the development of society, a new type of organization pattern of lineage is gr adually formed, that is lineage associations. Lineage associations, which can be called a product of modernization, on the basis of the inheritance of rational culture, realize the t ransformation from taking the traditional family "Degu" as the center to making "Presid ent" of lineage association as the core, from making Erpu as the economic ties to mainta in emotion, to using membership fees to strengthen the responsibility of mutual assistan ce. To some extent, many of the current problems that the development of Yi society of Liangshan maybe face are closely related to the modern transformation and adaptation o f traditional culture of Yi nationality of Liangshan, and a focal point of which is undoubt edly the development and transformation of Yi’ lineage. Lineage is a social group organi zation with paternal blood ties in the Yi society, which has been played an important rol e on Yi people’s life and production. In this paper, the lineage association in the process of urbanization is compared with the traditional lineage in the following aspects: the for ming reason, present situation, features and influence.This paper is divided into four parts except introduction and conclusion, the first pa rt mainly have a briefly carding and review on rules and recovery activities of Yi lineage of Liangshan and its social impact of research status of Yi lineage. The second part of t he paper is briefly introducing the forming and developmental status of lineage associati on as well as its rules. The third part is the main activity and its impact of lineage associ ation. Which mainly describe how to better compile the genealogy tree to distinct from t he traditional lineage, manage the membership fees and lineage’s conference this three a ctivities, then analysis the positive and negative influences. The fourth part will find out the similarities and differences between lineage associations and lineage through their contrastive analysis and explain. In the end, the author comes to the conclusion: lineage a ssociation is the extension and reconstruction of lineage in the town.Based on contrasting the traditional and modern lineage, the author has a study on developmental status and institutional framework, operation mode and social function o f lineage association which active in the town of Liangshan. From wide review of the fo rming and operation mode of lineage association, the author believes that it is formed by using bureaucracy-managing mode and adapting to modernization in the process of the confliction of town’ lineage and mainstream culture.In addition, it not only inherited the traditional lineage’s organization culture, but also had carried on the substantive extensi on and reconstruction. Therefore, the study on the lineage issue should given the priorit y to changing from rural to urban areas or lineage association, and the traditional linea ge is complementary. Which accord with the actual tendency of research of Yi lineage in Liangshan for now and a fairly long period of time.
