The Ground Certificate was a special kind of land contracts that is made a contract with Ghosts and gods for buying cemetery. The Ground Certificate came from the Eastern-Han Dynasty.It’s palmy days were in the Tang and Song Dynasties. The decline of it started in Yuan Dynasty. There was few The Ground Certificate in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. From Han Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, The Ground Certificate was spreading and used for Nearly two thousand years.It was one of the important representatives of Funeral culture in China.The paper choose the 307 kinds of materials from The Ground Certificate in the Song and Yuan Dynasties. Through the comprehensive collecting and organizing, there were 19 groups of disyllabic and polysyllabic synonyms, containning 189 disyllabic and polysyllabic words. In this paper, first, we analyze the same and different places of disyllabic and polysyllabic synonyms. Then,we sum up and summarize its types and characteristics. It has important significance for the vocabulary research of The Ground Certificate in the Song and Yuan Dynasties as well as the ancient Chinese synonyms research.The paper is divided into four chapters.
