A Study On The Compairson Between Frequency Adverbs1"Yizai (一å†)" And Zaisan (å†ä¸‰) In Modern Chinese | | Posted on:2016-05-14 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:J Yan | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2285330467994816 | Subject:Chinese Philology | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | In this paper, the frequency adverb "Yizai(一å†ï¼‰" and "Zaisan(å†ä¸‰ï¼‰" are the object of study, based on syntactic function, semanticfeatures and pragmatic analysis,to conduct a comprehensive study andcomparison of them.(A) Syntactic FunctionFirstly,compared with "Zaisan(å†ä¸‰ï¼‰","Yizai(一å†ï¼‰" combines withthe verbs ability is stronger, combines with a wider range."Yizai(一å†ï¼‰" and "Zaisan(å†ä¸‰ï¼‰" generally can not modify static verbs, theyalways combine with dynamic verbs."Yizai(一å†ï¼‰" can modify four typesof dynamic verbs,"Zaisan(å†ä¸‰ï¼‰" can only be combined with action verbsand psychological activity verbs.Secondly,"Zaisan(å†ä¸‰ï¼‰" chooses a more flexible position than "Yizai(一å†ï¼‰" when they combine with the verbs."Yizai(一å†ï¼‰" can only appearin front of the verbs, cannot be placed behind the verbs;"Zaisan(å†ä¸‰ï¼‰" can be placed in the front of the verb, also can be located behind theverbs to form of "V+Zaisan(å†ä¸‰ï¼‰" format.Thirdly,"Yizai(一å†ï¼‰" and "Zaisan(å†ä¸‰ï¼‰" have a very weak combiningability with tense particle. When they co-existing with the tenseparticle,it has existed a choice sequence of "Le(了)> Guo(过)> Zhe(ç€ï¼‰".(B) Semantic FeaturesThis part mainly discussed the vocabulary meaning, the timecharacteristics and the quantity characteristics of "Yizai(一å†ï¼‰" and"Zaisan(å†ä¸‰ï¼‰".Firstly,"Yizai(一å†ï¼‰" emphasizes the action of repeated,mainlypresents events, actions and so on have one state or the results;"Zaisan(å†ä¸‰ï¼‰" emphasizes the number of actions,mainly presents events, actionsand so on have a sequential occured process. Secondly,in the phase terms,"Yizai(一å†ï¼‰" and "Zaisan(å†ä¸‰ï¼‰" cannot express the static phase structure,only express the dynamic phasestructure."Yizai(一å†ï¼‰" is more inclusive than "Zaisan(å†ä¸‰ï¼‰" whensaid the phase structure of sentences,"Yizai(一å†ï¼‰" can be appliedto all the dynamic situations,"Zaisan(å†ä¸‰ï¼‰" can only represent theactivitiy situation.In the tense terms,"Yizai(一å†ï¼‰" and "Zaisan(å†ä¸‰ï¼‰" always parallel to the reference time.The tense characteristic of"Yizai(一å†ï¼‰" performance for the past and present,it can not be usedto represent a sentence of time in the future;The tense characteristicof "Zaisan(å†ä¸‰ï¼‰" performance for the past, present and future.Thirdly,"Yizai(一å†ï¼‰" and "Zaisan(å†ä¸‰ï¼‰" are discrete, uncertainand measurable."Yizai(一å†ï¼‰" and "Zaisan(å†ä¸‰ï¼‰" reflect the amountof action must be "bounded",discreteness is the root cause of thedifferences in phase characteristics."Yizai(一å†ï¼‰" and "Zaisan(å†ä¸‰ï¼‰" reflect the amount of frequency is vague and non-specific."Yizai(一å†ï¼‰" and "Zaisan(å†ä¸‰ï¼‰" reflect the interval quantity of the incidentwhen there is a size sequence of "Yizai(一å†ï¼‰">"Zaisan(å†ä¸‰ï¼‰","Yizai(一å†ï¼‰" inclines to the incident in a long period of time,"Zaisan(å†ä¸‰ï¼‰" inclines to the incident took place in a relatively short periodof time.(C) Pragmatic analysisThis part mainly observed the different choices of sentencecategory,sentence patterns and the style of language of "Yizai(一å†ï¼‰" and "Zaisan(å†ä¸‰ï¼‰".Firstly,"Yizai(一å†ï¼‰" and "Zaisan(å†ä¸‰ï¼‰" can appear in declarativesentences and interrogative sentences,they will not appear in theimperative sentences and exclamatory sentences."Yizai(一å†ï¼‰" and "Zaisan(å†ä¸‰ï¼‰" are mostly used in the affirmative sentences,a few can betogether with the negative adverb "no" in the negative sentences."Yizai (一å†ï¼‰" and "Zaisan(å†ä¸‰ï¼‰" can be used in the wh-questions anddisjunctive questions,they cannot appear in the alternative questions.Secondly,"Yizai(一å†ï¼‰" can be used in the "ba(把)"-sentences andthe passive sentences,it has a very flexible position withprepositions."Zaisan(å†ä¸‰ï¼‰" only can appear in the preposition-marked-passive-sentences(PMPS),it has a relatively fixed position.Thirdly,"Yizai(一å†ï¼‰" and "Zaisan(å†ä¸‰ï¼‰" are mostly used in thewritten style,less for the literature style,almost are not used for thespoken style. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Frequency Adverb, "Yizai(一å†ï¼‰", "Zaisan(å†ä¸‰ï¼‰", Syntactic Function, Semantic Features, Pragmatic Analysis | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
