The Effect On The Parameters Of Consecutive Interpreting Quality Caused By Different Accents

English has formed a lot of local variations, with the development of worldeconomy and globalization, has been used by many non-native speakers as the mainworld lingua franca. Meanwhile, a number of different accents derived from thelong-term contact with other languages, which will affect the listening and reactioncapacity of the interpreters inevitable. Different accents can bring many obstacles tothe interpreter’s translation.This study based on the Cognitive Load Theory of Gill’s, aims to study howdifferent accents affect the interpreting quality.The purpose of this research is to probe into how accent affects the parametersof interpreting quality. The subjects of this research are nine students master ofinterpreting grade2012of Xinjiang Normal University. Experimental method is aninterpreting test for specified materials, to study how accent affect the response time,fluency, accuracy and integrity and come up with the countermeasures.This research report has the suggestive gesture to training for different accentlistening and improving the interpreting quality. Interpreters can take differentstrategies and make pointed references to improve the quality of interpretation inconsideration of the accent has the different impact to each parameters.
