ObjectiveThe mini nutritional assessment (MNA) on senile vertebral or hip fracture patients was used to investigate the influencing factors of malnutrition in such patients, and to evaluate the influence of nursing intervention on the nutritional status of elderly patients with hip or vertebral fractures based on mini nutritional assessment, to provide a reliable basis for nutritional intervention in elderly patients with hip or vertebral fractures.Methods1.From November 2015 to March 2016,180 cases of senile vertebral and hip fra cture patients were treated at Orthopedics ward land 2 of the Second Affiliated Hospi tal of Zhengzhou University. The patients of orthopedics ward land 2 were control gr oup and intervention group respectively.62 cases of control group and 55 cases of inte rvention group were selected as dystrophic and risky patients based on MNA score.2. Patients in the treatment group were given routine nutrition guidance and individual nutritional intervention, and the control group was given routine nutrition guidance and health education. The upper arm muscle circumference, calf circumference, awareness rate of nutrition knowledge and fracture healing time were compared between the two. groups. We used SPSS 17.0 statistical analysis software, data entry, sorting, statistical processing and analysis of the results of the experiment. In the intervention group and the experimental group, two independent samples t test was used to compare the nutritional status between the two groups. Count data was used X2 test. The therapeutic effects of two groups of patients before and after nutrition intervention were observed.Results1. After nutrition intervention, the nutritional status of patients from two groups were improved significantly (P<0.05).2. The nutritional status of the treatment group was better than that of the control group significantly (P<0.05).3. Compared with the control group, the incidence of malnutrition in the treatment group was decreased significantly (P<0.05).4. there was no significant correlation between gender, age, fracture type, body mass index and the occurrence of malnutrition and risk, while, the upper arm muscle circumference, calf circumference, nutrition knowledge awareness rate were significant correlated with the occurrence of malnutrition and risk.Conclusion1. The influencing factors of the occurrence of malnutrition and risk of the elderly patients with vertebral or hip fractures includes self-care ability, awareness rate of nutrition knowledge, caregiver factors, mental health status, age, upper arm muscle circumference, calf circumference, etc. Besides, the upper arm muscle circumference, calf circumference and the awareness rate of nutrition knowledge can interpret the occurrence of malnutrition and risk of the elderly patients with vertebral or hip fractures.2. Using the mini nutritional assessment is a is a simple, easy and suitable way in the senile vertebral or hip fractures patients. Nutritional status assessment, nursing and treatment based on mini nutritional assessment is recommended in the elderly hospitalized patients with vertebral or hip fractures.
