This paper which is based on analyzing the planting process and working principles of 2ZP-2 dibble-type transplanter designed a data acquisition device about slip characteritic and soil roughness for the transplanter. Adopt the NI USB-6343 DAQ card as hardware core and the LabVIEW virtual instrument software as operational platform, the parameter including the rotational speed of left ground wheel, right ground wheel and transplant unit, the planted seedling numbers and the change of soil surface height which has a great influence on transplanter performance can be achieved by DAQmx function programming, and then the steering-theoretic distance and soil surface roughness is obtained. While the steering-factual speed of the transplanter can be achieved by GPS velocity tester. Carry out field experiment by adopting this device, some new parameters including slip rate for ground wheel and transplant unit of 2ZP-2 dibble-type transplanter, planting distance can be obtained. What’s more, some important conclusions are drawed through analysing the new parameters, that is:When the teeth number of Z2 sprocket is 24, the two ground wheels have a minimum slippage and the value of A, is greater than 1, it also has the minimum relative error value between actual planting distance and theoretical planting distance. So we can choose 24 as the best teeth number of Z2 in this group. With a limited hauling speed range, the variation of hauling speed has a little influence on dibble-type transplanter’s slip rate and planting distance. In different test sections, the value of RMS height and the mean spacing of the profile irregularities show some fluctuations, while the value of fractal dimension is not affected etc. These data and conclusions are of great significance to further experimental study on the 2ZP-2 dibble-type transplanter.By now, The data acquisition device has been accomplished and more improvement will be done to make it perfect. The test results showed that practical application performance and theoretical design requirements of the device is basically consistent under the circumstances of satisfying the requirements of data acquisition device. The field experiments also show that this device is reliable and availability.
