Having been widely used in machinery and interrupted by problems like vibration noise etc., ordinary gear transmission systems usually work in very complicated conditions. Therefore, thouroughly systematical research on gear systems is necessary while a precise, stable and high speed transmission is chased.Taking into account of basic parameters like modules, tooth-width, helical angle, azimuth angle, coefficient of variation, pressure angle and influence of support stiffness and supporting damp of bearings, this paper has established the single-axis and multi-parallel-axis gear rotor systems by using ANSYS and its APDL language. Natural features of these systems have been analyzed as the basis of problems studied then, for instance, mechanical model, differential equations of motion, dynamical responses of static transmission errors and vibration displacement at meshing point.Based on Latin square method and combinatin of ANSYS and ISIGHT, experimental design of the Finite Element model is processed and finite element response samples are obtained. Combining the BP neural network, functional relationship between basic random parameters and responses has been established. Finally, the network has been verified to confirm that it can take the place of finite elment model while reliability design and reliability-based design being conducted.According to the first-order second-moment method and using the MATLAB programme, reliability of the rotor system is obtained and compared with the Monte Carlo Simulation (MCS). Following results show the accuracy and validity of the first-order second-moment method. Based on reliability-based theories and the MATLAB programme, reliability-based sensitivity of reliability to basic random variables is obtained after dimensionless. Reliability based sensitivity is ordered and the most influential parameters are illustrated.Having obtained the key factors of systematical reliability, this paper provides a crucial reference for design, manufacturing and production of machinery with its practical value.
