The Research Of The Artistic Form In Modern Landscape Design

As modern landscape design is a highly-comprehensive discipline involving nature,society, ecology, function, technique and aesthetics, etc., various theoretical researches onlandscape design are also characterized by multiple aspects and diversification. Nevertheless,at present, various researches mostly initiate from the aspect of society, environment,technology, function and culture with more attention paid to its rational connotations whilerare theoretical researches are referring to the effect of landscape art form on the designcreation, or the art form is only believed as a beautiful cover that can be added at pleasure.Insufficient recognition and deep though is made in terms of the modern landscape art form. Inaddition, in the landscape design practice, as driven by the market, pursuit of economic profit,short design cycle, insufficient experience storage and shortage of accession system, theoverall landscape design in China is remaining coarse by introduction and simulation ofwestern landscape form to a large extent, which futures the blind pursuit of large type andforeign flavor, similar project, insufficient personality, shortage of person-orientedconsideration and original design; as a result, the ability of landscape design creation isbecoming increasingly faint.The landscape design, with the visual image as the carrier, cannot stand out without theselection of splendid art form which has always been rather significant. No matter what thelandscape art expression language, the art representation style and the art developmenttendency are, it always represents the effect and close relationship between the landscapedesign and the visual art. Landscape form, as an integration of function, technique, art andaffection, cannot survive without the art form and language. In this sense, the study onlandscape design form signifies unique significance and value.The thesis firstly defines the concept of modern landscape design, emphasizes thedistinction among the object, property and type of modern landscape design, and traces theevolution from traditional garden to modern landscape; secondly, the thesis analyzes the effectof various thoughts on modern landscape form, including modern design art, modern art,modern movements in architecture, nature and ecologism, post-modernism and modern art;thirdly, the thesis analyzes the characteristics of modern landscape art form in detail from such four aspects as landscape space, landscape entity, landscape material and landscape culture;finally, the thesis summarizes several aesthetic characters of modern landscape design form,and analyzes the subjective and objective factors which may affect the selection of landscapeform with some strategies and approaches to be proposed for the form selection.It is expected that the research achievements of the thesis may provide some theoreticaland practical references to the adoption of art form in the current landscape design so as toseek more originalities and possibilities in the representation of landscape art on a higher andwider level while inspiring the vitality of design creation and continuous availability ofdiversity.
