Research On Safety Signage Of Beijing Underground Transportation Hub

Public transport, what links different areas of the city, has become a link in people’s lives. But as the acceleration of urbanization, unban expansion and the growing population, the satisfaction of public transportation has been decline sharply. It takes more and more time in congestion and traffic jam. Therefore, the development of underground public transportation is particularly important. By doing so, the pressure of the ground public transportation will be al eviated effectively.With the construction of underground rail transit network, the underground space has played the important role of connecting multiple transport trains, rental, airplane, subway, etc.. It has become an important joint of underground public transportation. The complexity and tightness of underground transportation hub, however, make passengers prone to pressure, irritable and panic. These negative emotions will confuse people’s recognition of the direction, descend the speed of walking. Meanwhile, the special geographical location of underground transportation hub makes it difficult to evacuation and rescue in disaster, so the subway disaster caused a lot of injuries and death. Safety signage could guide passengers to a safe area in the shortest possible time, reducing casualties and property losses, so the safety signage of underground transportation hub is of great importance.This paper research the safety signage of Beijing underground transportation hub, make a clear definition and classification, combined with the field research, analysis the key factors to come up with principle of safety signage design. Basing on the prototype, redesign the safety signage. Finally, coming up with the prospect of Beijing underground transportation hub safety signage. I hope this article could raise awareness of the importance of the safety signage, and promote Chinese safety signage of underground transporta tion hub development completely.
