How to match and design the automobile’s suspension system reasonably is important. The rigid-flexible coupled vehicle model is established from the Multi-Body system dynamics and the simulation analysis about the automobile’s handling stability and riding comfort have already been carried out. From the result of the simulation analysis the orthogonal experimental designs have been used to choose the improvement solution about the automobile’s suspension system.Firstly, in theory, some factors which have an influence on the automobile’s handling stability and riding comfort have already been analyzed. Some important data from the automobile test and component test have been used for the rigid-flexible coupled automobile model in the Adams/car such as the centre of gravity position, the moment of inertia, the characteristic curves of the dampers and the stiffness characteristic curves of the springs and so on. The virtual prototyping simulation model of the automobile has been successfully established. According to our country’s national standards, the simulation analysis about handling stability has been carried out and the result meets the national standards for evaluation. Meanwhile according to the national standards, the simulation model has also been carried out by riding comfort test and the result meets the national standards for evaluation.Then, from the feature of the structure and performance of the passenger cars, according to the automobile’s handling stability and riding comfort of our country’s national standards, the paper show new method for evaluation of handling stability and new method for evaluation of riding comfort. The automobile has been evaluated by new method for evaluation of handling stability and new method for evaluation of riding comfort. The automobile’s suspension system has an influence on handling stability and riding comfort at the same time and how to evaluate the automobile’s suspension system reasonably? To make comprehensive evaluation for handling stability and riding comfort is necessary because of the independence of our country’s national standards for evaluation between handling stability and riding comfort and the paper shows the new method, the automobile has been evaluated by the new method.At last, improvement analysis of some parameters of the automobile’s suspension system has been carried out and ADAMS/Insight is used for doing orthogonal experimental design. From the result of the orthogonal experimental designs the final improvement project of some parameters of the automobile’s suspension system is OK. As a result, riding comfort is better than ever and handling stability is maintained, the comprehensive evaluating indicators for handling stability and riding comfort are also better than ever.
