The ultrasonic motor possesses such properties of compact conformation, flexible design,fast response speed, no magnetic field generation and well electromagnetic compatibility. It haswide application prospects in aviation, cosmonautics and precise instrument provinces, whichneed well electromagnetic compatibility and high positioning accuracy.This paper provides a driving experiment system for a new kind of rotary ultrasonic motor,which is exploited in this laboratory. The driving system is necessary to run this new ultrasonicmotor with its piezoelectric stator and piezoelectric rotor’s modes of vibration gear revolves eachother. However,this kind of driving power is still blank on the market. It designs and exploits aset of driving power based on virtual instrument on the basis of ultrasonic motor driving theory.First, the ultrasonic motor driving theory is analyzed briefly, by which the driving plan, thattwo group signals in which each group is composed of two channels of40kHz sine signal with90°displacement is necessary to drive the motor, and one group drives the stator, the othergroup drives the rotor, is concluded. These two groups have180°phase displacement initially. Itis desired the stator and rotor have jogged positions when the motor launches. So it is necessaryto feedback their relative angle to regulate the relatively phase of driving signals.Furthermore, virtual instrument technology, DAQ broad and peripheral circuit, which arebased on the core hardware platform of PC, is applied to collect the input and control the outputsignals., whose amplitude,frequency and phase are tunable. The rotor’s position information fedback by photoelectric encoder ensures that the stator and rotor are on the jogged positions whenthe motor launches next time.Finally, Butterworth lowpass circuit is designed and produced to eliminate harmonic wavesin sine wave signal and phase-shift circuit is designed and produced to divide the two channelsof sine wave signals into four channels.Experimental results show that this test system can fully meet the requirements gor testingthe new type of rotation ultrasonic motor. It establishes a new ultrasonic motor experimenttechnology basis.
