With the rapid development of China modern transportation, highways play animportant role in economic construction, social development and so on, which alsopromote the quality testing techniques of highway engineering to non-destructive, fasterand more convenient. Ultrasonic-detector testing techniques for asphalt pavementconstruction quality is a new direction of non-destructive testing technology. But theultrasonic non-destructive testing technology is still at the stage of attempting to exploitin China, furthermore the theoretical study and practical ultrasonic non-destructivetesting of asphalt concrete pavement for is still blank. Therefore, I carried out theresearch that is relevant aspects of ultrasonic non-destructive testing technology,expecting to be able to make some extent expand for ultrasonic nondestructive testingtechnology theory and its application. The study idea and main research content arefollowing:(1) Summary of the density detection methods of asphalt concrete pavement that iselaborating from destructive and non-destructive, analyze the working principles ofdifferent density detection technology and focus on the basic working principle ofultrasonic detector. And the thesis contrasts and analyzes the advantages anddisadvantages of various density detection technologies for asphalt pavement.(2) Based on the theory of ultrasonic wave in elastic solid and ultrasonic wavepropagation characteristics of viscoelastic material, establish the model when ultrasonicwave propagates in asphalt pavement, and analyze the attenuation law of ultrasonicwave propagation in asphalt concrete pavement, probe and deduce the affecting factorsof asphalt pavement viscoelastic on ultrasonic attenuation and the relationship betweenviscoelastic medium and ultrasonic velocity(3) Analyze the reason why ultrasonic wave appear scattering in asphalt pavementand summary scattering attenuation law, introduce the model of equivalent incidentfields and scattered fields, analyze the interaction between the equivalent scattered fieldand the affecting factors of derived ultrasonic sound field. Explore the influence of ultrasonic wave scattering on the test results when the ultrasonic wave propagate inasphalt pavement.(4) Analyze the absorption attenuation caused by the ultrasonic wave friction,explain the reason why the penetration of high frequency part are stronger thanlow-frequency part in the ultrasonic wave,and analyze the affecting factors of roadporosity on ultrasonic attenuation.(5) Elaborate concrete ultrasonic detector’s instrument parameters and itsmeasurement characteristics, study on the methods of calibration and testing aboutconcrete ultrasonic detector, analyze the affecting factors of concrete ultrasonic detectortesting by combinating theory and experiment, and investigate the reliability ofultrasonic detector used in testing compaction degree of the asphalt pavement, proposedsome points that using ultrasonic testing asphalt pavement should be noted.
