A Gas Chromatography (GC) is a device, which analyzes a combination of gas byseparating the mixture into different gases. In recent years, this process is done manually.Engineers may have to walk from control room regardless of the distance to open theCalibration Gas Cylinder (CGC) for a definite amount of time and then close it afterneeded amount of gas have been transported through tubes to the Gas Chromatography. The GC is positioned at the analyzer shelter, faraway from the control room due to the sizeof the whole plant. Each plant needs large amount of GC’s to function as lot of gases arerequired but can’t have all within one cylinder. Each GC is automated to separate as manygases found in each cylinder. In this paper, the purpose behind this project, controlling the calibration gas cylindersemi-automatically (partially) has been presented. Solenoid valve is connected from thecalibration gas cylinder to the gas chromatography by a stainless steel tube. The solenoidvalve controls the amount of gas needed to be transferred to the (GC). Micro controllersends a command from a connected computer to the relay, which sends an electricalcurrent to the valve to either open or close the cylinder.Furthermore, long distance signals may either reduce or fail throughout transmission;signals may a so delay or may not be able to get to the needed location at the timeidentified due to problems shown above. Also if the signal is too high the entire powermay shut down consequential in failure of production at the site. As a result of this, arepeater485is needed. This repeater is programmed to avoid needless shortage orincrement of current especially if the gas will be transmitted to a long distant area and tokeep the current or signal steady and constant as specified from the operator.
