The output wavelength of Thulium-doped fiber laser is about2μm, This band right in the security zone of the human eye, So in communications, medical and military have a very wide range of applications, The narrow linewidth thulium-doped fiber laser is one important branch of laser,It has a high gain, good direction, good heat resistance, coherence properties and a series of other benefits. These features make the narrow linewidth fiber laser can be used as an ideal source of future optical communication systems, And can be applied to the field of sensing, military, medical and high-precision spectroscopy, etc., containing enormous market.This thesis research on the characteristics of narrow linewidth thulium-doped fiber laser, The main contents include:1. The thesis introduces the basic principle of thulium-doped fiber laser and some important part of it in details, then analyze the performance factors impact of thulium-doped fiber laser, key technologies of narrow linewidth thulium-doped fiber laser and comparison of narrow linewidth thulium-doped fiber lasers commonly used programs, provide the basis for the next simulation and experimental study.2. Build a mathematical model of the3H6â†'3H4pump scheme, and make a detailed numerical analysis on the impact on the parameters of the components of the fiber laser thulium-doped fiber laser performance, in order to build a thulium-doped fiber laser experimental system provides a theoretical basis.3. Build a narrow linewidth thulium-doped fiber laser system based on the ring cavity, when the pump laser wavelength is793nm, power is2.18W, get the center wavelength of the laser output is1941.50nm, peak power is-8.4dBm, laser optical signal to noise ratio (OSNR) is58.4dB. Comparison output spectrum of the laser after add/remove saturated absorber, we can observe obvious beat signal.the results show that the laser is running in single longitudinal mode, in the continuous monitoring of the laser for two hours, the wavelength shift is less than0.05nm, the power fluctuation is less than0.5dBm, the results show stable performance of the laser output and the beam quality is better.
