SSB(Single-sideband)modulation and demodulation system can more effectively reduce the bandwidth and improve the spectral efficiency,and is used in the short-wave communication. It is widely used in the military, radio services, satellite-to-ground channel and mobile communication system since being created.Due to its powerful digital signal processing ability, FPGA(Field-Programmable Gate Array),as the ahead of the very large scale integrated circuit,can meet nowadays society’s requirements of increasingly improving of hardware equipment performance. The article focuses on the realizing SSB modulation and demodulation system based on FPGA to design the sending and receiving system based on FPGA.The main content of this article includes the following aspects. Firstly, the paper has a brief introduction of the history of SSB, elaborates the related radio communication theory and single-sideband modulation and demodulation system theory achievement, emphatically clear about the solutions of the SSB sending and receiving system based on FPGA. Secondly, the paper systematically introduces circuit implementation technology used in SSB sending and receiving system based on FPGA. It mainly includes A/D、D/A conversion technology, DDS technology, hilbert transform technology to complete the conversion from DSB to SSB and sampling rates up filter technology. The article mainly talks about performance and implementation methods of using CIC filter based on FPGA to realize CIC technology. The implementation is designed on Xilinx Company’s ISE14.2software. Each module is designed and synthesized by hardware description language Verilog_HDL, and is simulated under ModelSim10.1environment to verify the correctness of it. Thirdly, all modules will be synthesized to complete the design of the whole system on Virtex-7series FPGA of Xilinx Company through continuous debugging.The design of the SSB sending and receiving system based on FPGA of the article is based on software and hardware platform. The article has a certain level of theory and practical application value, and can be used as the base of subsequent application research. It has a certain reference value on the technolog of wireless communication and Internet of Things.
