| During classroom teaching, verbal behaviors are the main tool for teachers to transfer teaching information. So they have got the attention of majority scholars. But the other information transfer tool named nonverbal behavior in the classroom is ignored by people. Teachers’nonverbal behaviors such as gestures, Facial expressions can effectively make up the lack of sound language in the classroom, making teaching content more figurative and strengthening expressive effect of class. Therefore, researching teachers’nonverbal behavior has very important significance. It can enrich and deepen the theoretical study of teaching behavior, providing basic theoretical guidance for the further study of classroom body language. It also can attract teachers’attention, making better use of body language to convey information in the classroom. In addition, the vocational higher education which can not be ignored by people is a part of the EFA. With the rapid social and economic development, vocational education has entered a new era, appearing a trend of diversification. Studies on vocational teachers and students can help us know the status of teachers and students of vocational colleges effectively and give a guide to their behaviors, promoting their own development and enhancing their competitiveness.This study adopts both qualitative and quantitative research methods, starting from classroom teaching practice and selecting all the students of a sophomore class and two teachers of the Vocational and Technical College in Weinan. It uses the method of combining literature, questionnaires, classroom observation and in-depth interview to study the effect of the vocational high school teachers’body language on students’ learning attitudes and analysis it in detail. First of all, using student questionnaire to understand whether the students pay a close attention to teachers’ body language in the classroom in order to illustrate the need of the study on body language of the vocational high school teachers; Secondly, preparing an observation scale of teachers’body language to record the application of teachers’body language, especially the positive body language and the negative body language. The purpose is to know the application of the teachers’ different body languages is positive or negative for teaching and students. We also do a comparison with the two teachers’ positive body language and negative body language. In addition, using a log sheet of their students participate in classroom to record the students’classroom behavior to understand the state of students’classroom lectures and concern individual students, making preparation for the in-depth interviews; Finally, using the in-depth interview method to talk with individual students and experience the true reaction and feelings of the student on teachers’ positive and negative body language. By analyzing the questionnaire, observation scale and interview records, This study comes to the following conclusions:First, the students give a great concern on the teachers’ body language. So we need to do some discussion on it. Second, the applications of the two teachers’ body language in the classroom have significant difference. Student performance of the teacher who use more positive body language is relatively good and use more negative body language student performance is relatively badly. Third, the teacher’s body language will impact students’ learning attitude and the positive body language will have a positive impact on the students, giving them some positive emotions to enhance their self-confidence and make them learn more seriously. Conversely, the teacher’s negative body language will have a negative impact on the students, fighting against students’ self-esteem, make them lose confidence, and have a lax attitude towards learning. |
