A Study About Cui Tu And His Poetry

Cui Tu, whose courtesy name is Li Shan, was born in Tonglu, Zhejiang province. He is good at writing modern style poetry and many poetry critics give a high evaluation to his modem style poetry. But so far, there hasn’t been any detailed study on his poetry. So this paper tries to give him more deep and systematic research. It is divided into the following three parts:The first part is the introduction, It mainly outlines the research status of Cui Tu poetry and explains the meaning of this topic. At present, there is less research on Cui Tu and his poetry. The only master’s thesis which named<The Research Of Cui Poems In The Tang Dynasty> references to Cui Tu. But the thesis mainly sets Cui’s poems in the Tang Dnasty as an object of study and the content about Cui Tu is very simple. So that is the reason why I choose this topic.The second part has the three chapters. The first chapter is about Cui Tu’s life. It mainly studies his life, which bases on the social background of that time, so that could be further to explore the poet’s mind world. The second chapter mainly discusses his thoughts and the poetry theme. The third chapter mainly discusses the artistic features of his poetry.The third part is a summary of this paper. It points out his poetry’s shortages that were lack of humanistic care to the real world. At the same time, we should know that his poetry has some certain significance. To some extent, it reflects the helpless lives of those poets who lived in the late Tang Dynasty and the peculiarity of poetry during this period.
