Khotan Ancient Buddhist Mural Style Research

This paper in the past and in recent decades that many Hetian ancientBuddhist murals, analyse and research from the whole, a careful analysisof the Hetian Buddhist painting style from the style of paintingtechniques, combined with archaeological typology, division of Hetianancient Buddhist murals for the style type. Through the detailed analysisand research, this paper divides the ancient buddhist frescoes and fieldI, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII eight mural style; In Hotan ancientBuddhist temple ruins, some Buddhist temple ruins only a class muralstyle, some Buddhist temple ruins coexist with two murals style, someBuddhist sites with the same style of wall painting. Through theclassification of Hotan ancient Buddhist murals style type, from thenumerous and complicated Temple site mural, clearly show that appearancecharacter of mural style type; in the study of evolutionary relationshipbetween mural style of each type, shows the development of Hotan Buddhistmurals; In this research, the Hetian ancient Buddhist murals styletechnique and the Milan murals and Qiuci, Turpan, Dunhuang, cave frescocomparison, from the specific painting form, interaction relationshipanalysis of the area of Buddhist painting style;Based on the style of wallpainting type classification and analysis and research, combined with therelated research of archaeology, history, a variety of styles on Hotanancient buddhist frescoes in the time of the study. I style years beforeand after fourth Century, II style years before and after fifth Century,Ⅲ style type of s type with Ⅱ style s close to lower limit in the5thcentury, its s Ⅳ style type of s in the6th century, V style change formof continuous development, the mural’s complex, V-ⅰ type later, insixth Century, V-ⅱtype in the early seventh Century, V-ⅲ in the middleof the seventh Century, V-IV in eighth Century, VI style murals in themid-to late seventh Century, VII style murals in the mid-to late seventhCentury to early eighth Century, VIII style murals in eighth Century, mostof which VII style murals in the middle and late eighth Century. Thesemurals style and age, showing and the development process of ancientBuddhist murals and field relationships, the art and related subjectsin-depth study of ancient Khotan culture has an important value.
