This report is based on Hillary Clinton’s two campaign speeches in2008, which isderived from the network resources. The total speech time is about40minutes. Theauthor mainly analyzes the speech that Hillary announced to stop running for thepresident in the National Building Museum on June7th,2008.This practice report consists of five parts: task description, process description,preparation for the interpretation practice, case-analysis, summary and conclusion. In thefirst part, the task description offers the source of the selected speeches and the nature ofthis task. The second part depicts the interpreting process of the practice. The third partmainly illustrates the preparation work, which includes the collection of the backgroundof the speeches and the speaker Hillary Clinton, the analysis of related articles andvideos. On this basis, the author summarizes the speaker’s language characteristics andsome high-frequency words. The forth part is case analysis, which is the core part of thisreport. According to the characteristics of the text, the new words and parallel structureare studied carefully. The problems occurred in the practice are pointed out as well. Thefinal part is about what could be learnt from this practice.
