Since the western zhou dynasty, the kingcraft thought has been an enduring topic. It isnot only because of many fields and problems which has connection with the topic, butbecause it holds the spiritual purport of Chinese traditional culture and value pursuit. It shouldbe said that until this thought took shape during the warring states period, especially after thedevelopment of Confucius and Mencius, it offers the ideal political premise principles andgoals for the Raja group.Mencius as a master of the Pre-qin Confucian political thought, with his unique historicalbackground and inheritance of the traditional historical sense of responsibility, for thedevelopment of Chinese political future, painted a picture of history and logic and combinedthe truth with the goodness and beauty. Can say, a blueprint for this basic principle, hasfoundation, moral bottom and goal, which does not only depict the blueprint, but a MuDuo toour posterity.This article tries to tease out the basic connotation, principle and value pursuit of thekingcraft thought, and then gets the three aspects of basic content of the zhou dynasty politicalthoughts in the process of the emergence and development, namely, the legitimacy of theking’s power, the moral principle of the king’s power and the realistic goals. Besides, on thebasis of the three aspects of basic content, respectively, I will explore how Mencius discussthe theory of human nature as the foundation of the mandate of heaven, the value principles ofmoral theory and the thought of obedience as the object of political practice.
