Check-in facilities and passageway are the main transfer facilities of rail transit system inthe rail transit hub. The reasonable configuration of transfer facilities will affect the smoothrunning of the rail transit system, transfer efficiency and comfort level of passengers in andout of the station directly. So the operate efficiency o f rail transit system obtainiedoptimization as a whole. Therefore, it is realistic significance that the reasonableconfiguration of the check-in facilities and the width of passageway, meanwhile, it willprovide decision support for planners, builders and operation managers of the rail transit hub.The rationality of infrastructure configuration, conditions and service level has alwaysbeen one of the important and difficult problem of design and operate management to railtransportation hub station. Based on the analysis of traffic characteristics of passengers in therail transit hub, queuing optimization model and simulation model were built nearby check-infacilities and in passageway combine with theory and method of simulation related to the railtransit hub, Meanwhile, The queuing optimization model are verified. At last, It gives us theconfiguration method of check-in facilities and the width of passageway. The main contentsof this paper are as follows:(1) Based on the analysis of traffic characteristics of passengers in the rail transit hub,thequeuing optimization model was built nearby check-in facilities and in passageway by usingthe method of queuing theory according to content and principle of the transfer facilityoptimization in the rail transit hub. After that, Solve the queuing optimization model inpassageway by using the function of solve the optimization problem in Matlab software(2) Relevant parameter was calibrated by analyzing queuing system of check-in facilitiesand passageway. The passengers’ arrival rate and service time were determined according tothe certain passenger flow volume, meanwhile, simulation model of transfer facilities wasbuilt.(3) We analyzed the example of dongfanghong square station hub of Lanzhou with Simiosimulation software, and simulation model was built. Based on the result of solving thequeuing optimization model, different configuration scheme of the simulation model wasgiven, and determined the optimal scheme by using the method of multi-attribute decision.(4) We compared operate indexes of the simulation model to the results of solving thequeuing optimization model, the operate indexes includes busy period, average queue lengthof passengers, and average wait time. At the same time, make the result analysis and testifythe queuing optimization model. At last, it give us configuration method of check-in facilitiesand the width of passageway.
