| As a commonly used solid lubrication technology, Bonded solid lubricant coating has been studied for a long time. Based on the research of epoxy resin bonded solid lubricant coating, Kevlar fiber’s modification to coating was studied in this paper. A series of friction and wear tests had been conducted to investigate the law of aramid content between friction and wear properties of coating and the carrying capacity; the tribological performance of Kevlar-epoxy composite coating speed and lubrication conditions had been investigated too; By analyzing the reducing friction self-lubricating film formation process of coating, with the usage of scanning electron microscopy and surface spectroscopy detection, how the Kevlar coating modified the internal mechanism had been further discussed.The study showed that the addition of aramid could refine the tribological properties of coating. When the mass ratio between aramid and epoxy resin was3%, The modification of coating is more obvious. A proper increased of the operation speed could enhance the compound coating’s self lubrication properties. However, high operation would lead to’unstable performance of friction pairs and test failure. In addition, the lubrication condition had great influence on coating properties. With oil lubricating, the compound coating had a good properties of friction. With water lubricating, the properties showed some reducing friction and self-lubrication at high load. As a result, water is not proper for lubrication for this composition at low speed or load.At the beginning of the test, the function of friction pairs was set up by protruded spots’contact on friction surface. With carriage or relatively moving, the spots distorted and ruptured, so the inner solid lubrication came out to influx on friction surface, coming to being a kind of compound film which is self lubrication film that could reduce friction. Solid lubrication coating properties were relying on free lubrication coating. The addition of aramid was benefit for the form of free lubrication coating, and the existing of aramid could enhance the carrying capacity, so the aramid coating showed a preferable reducing and wearable of friction. |
