Ordos Basin is one of the regions rich natural gas resources in China, is China’s "West-East" key projects important gas source; At present, entered a rapid development stage natural gas exploration, production increased dramatically, because of the gas producing formation is the main land deposition, reservoir sandstone lithology, facies and thickness variation, surface distribution and connectivity complex, finding large gas-rich region is very difficult. In response to this situation, this article take deposits the system research as a master line, using the sedimentology, the geophysics, deposits the geochemistry theory and the method, based on core described in detai, through zircon dating and means of paleomagnetic fabric analysis to clear the Upper Paleozoic source from the north, and he-8sedimentary model and characteristics of sedimentary facies was established;by microscopic characteristics of the reservoir and mercury curve shape, diagenetic evolution was analysed, the master control factor of high quality reservoir growth was discussed; Based on cores and outcrops, combined with responses of logging, microscopic characteristics of sand body was identified in-depth systematic, distribution of sand structure was cleared, and pointed out that the structure of sand played an important role in gas production capacity, this research achieved obvious application effects.
