Chao-Shan Ethic Guoup And Chao-Shan Economy

The thesis explains the reason of economic underdevelopment in Chao-Shan areafrom the view of Chao-Shan ethic culture which is along with the Grief’s thought ofinstitution evolution. First we discuss the history of Chao-Shan ethic culture and findthat Chao-Shan ethic culture is a culture system that not only have character ofreservation in land culture but have character of exoteric in sea culture. With theanalysis of culture history we get the path of Chao-Shan ethic culture evolution. Later,we research the mechanism of culture influence on people’s activity at foundation ofChao-Shan ethic culture evolution. Later, we research the mechanism of Chao-Shanethic culture influence on people’s activity by Comparative History InstitutionAnalysis. With the comparative view of Chao-Shan ethic culture effects on people inLocal area and oversea, we propose a hypothesis to explain the reason of Chao-Shanarea economic underdevelopment, the hypothesis states that under the influence ofsocial structure in local area, people in Chao-Shan area expand business network byclan-relationship will promote transaction cost and hinder the talent flow inChao-Shan area, with the effects of transaction cost, the business scale in Chao-Shanarea expand hardly and economic development in Chao-Shan area are becomingslower. At last, on the base of conclusion, we give some suggestion on modification ofmarket economy mechanism and improvement of Chao-Shan area economy in future.
