With the development of electronic technology, the semiconductor laser has obtained the widespread application in the field of optoelectronics with its own characteristic, such as small volume, light weight and easy modulation. Semiconductor lasers’ performance is stable or not in use mainly depends on the size of output current of the drive power supply used and temperature stability. Therefore, in order to enable semiconductor laser with stable working status, this paper designed a kind of reliable and practical power semiconductor laser driver according to the requirements of semiconductor laser to drive circuit.The design in this paper includes pre voltage regulator module, constant current drive power source module, protection module, control module, A/D and D/A conversion, LCD display, etc. Pre voltage regulator modules provide stable working voltage and for the circuit with constant current source module is in order to improve the stability of output current. Control circuit based on microcontroller STC89C52as the core, after analog-to-digital conversion circuit, the current signal collected is sent to STC89C52compared with preset values and then the result of its handling after analog-to-digital conversion output to achieve the effect of the output current control. The software function can be used to realize part of the operation of the hardware circuit adopting STC89C52control circuit, by which the use flexibility of the system could be enhanced and the cost of hardware could be saved, at the same time the entire circuit system could be controllable.The simulation and the actual measurement results showed that:when the positive and negative input voltages change of the voltage regulator circuit, the output voltage of the circuit is relatively stable. Output current of the drive power within the0to100mA range is continuously adjustable and the output current stability is very good (fluctuations value within1hour is approximately0mA).
