In recent years, with the development of wireless sensor network, it is gradually widely used in various fields of environmental monitoring, medical research, military and everyday life. At the same time, a variety of natural disasters have occurred, causing the national government and the entire community attaches great importance to the early warning of natural disasters. In the field of debris flow observation, the traditional way of debris flow forecast relies on the factors of the climate change, seismic activity, rainfall, and so on. The weakness of these methods is that the prediction accuracy is low. In order to improve the accuracy of the debris flow warning, we focus on the key technologies of debris flow early disaster warning by wireless sensor network and design and preliminary realize the real-time monitoring system of debris flow in this paper. The key technologies refered in this paper include the mechanism of resuming from broken then uploading the message and the data compression algorithm based on wireless sensor networks. The power of cheap sensor node usually only maintains the node working very short period of time. Once the sensor node is deployed, there is no opportunity to charge. Moreover, experimental measurements have shown that the energy consumption of a sensor node is dominated by communications. Based on the consideration of the above reasons, we designed a simple and efficient data compression algorithm to compress the raw data before forwarding them to the data center, which can greatly reduce the network communication overhead. In addition, we also can cut down network communication overhead by introducing the mechanism of resuming from broken then uploading the message. In order to improve the response speed of the system, we introduced double-buffering technique when design the debris flow real-time monitoring system. The one hand, we take the database connection pool technology to improve the system access speed when we need to access the database; On the other hand, we will put all commonly used method into the Memcached when the system starts (Memcached is a high-performance, distributed memory object caching system). When users access to the system, it will go directly to get the related method for users. It can greatly enhance the user experience. Finally, through experiments, we summarize the advantages and disadvantages of the monitoring system. And then according to the system’s current situation, we have developed a work plan for the next step.
